Our DSLR photography lessons for beginners are the perfect way to get a grasp on the basic fundamentals of photography. These lessons are meant for those with little to no knowledge of how to properly utilize the full functionality of their DSLR camera.
For these classes, we do require students own their own DSLR. It doesn't matter what brand it is, but to fully benefit from our lessons, you do need to have your own camera. Topics we will cover during these classes include the different modes of the camera, the basic components that impact the image (such as shutter speed, aperture, and ISO), as well as how to properly compose your photographs.
Depending on what you are more interested in learning, these lessons can take place in our studio, or outdoors. We leave that choice up to our students. Once you have mastered the basic fundamentals, you will be able to move on to our more advanced classes.
For more information or to schedule your one-on-one lesson, contact us today.
If you already have a firm grasp on the basic fundamentals of photography, our advanced lessons will help take your skills to the next level. These lessons will go into more complex techniques, relying solely on shooting in manual, utilizing different lighting techniques, and expanding your understanding of depth of field, long exposure shooting, and other advanced techniques in which you may be interested.
If you have a specific technique you would like to learn, or if you feel like you already have the basic fundamentals down, this is the right option for you.
Each lesson is 90 minutes long and you can choose whether you would like one lesson, weekly lessons, or as needed lessons, where you come to us whenever you are wanting to learn more. For more information on our one-on-one instruction, or to schedule a lesson, please contact us.
Lighting is one of the most important components of photography. Until you can understand how light impacts your images, you will not be able to take stunning portraits. Our lighting classes are designed to teach a wide variety of lighting styles, from natural lighting to off camera flash outdoors, to studio lighting. AJ Romano is our lighting expert at Life in Pixels, and would be handling all of our lighting classes. He is capable of teaching those with little to no knowledge of lighting, as well as those who already have a basic understanding of how to utilize light properly to create a captivating image.
Because lighting is a complex component of photography, these lessons are two hours long, and would either take place in our studio in Bridgewater, or outdoors, depending on the subject matter being covered. If you do not have any lighting of your own, that is not a problem. We can still work with you to teach you how to take advantage of natural light, as well as artificial light, as well as point you in the right direction when it comes to purchasing lighting to meet your specific needs.
If you would like more information regarding our one-on-one lighting lessons, or are interested in scheduling your first lesson, please reach out to us via email.
While some of our students are looking to master photography, we also have many students who are looking to improve their skills when it comes to post production. Kathleen is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to post production and offers one-on-one instruction in both Lightroom and Photoshop. These lessons are designed for students with either no knowledge at all when it comes to post production, or a basic grasp of photo editing but a desire to take their skills to the next level.
These lessons can be done at our studio, or at your home, whichever is more convenient for you.
For our post-production classes, we offer one hour lessons and two hour lessons, which can be done on an on going basis or as a one time class to help you master new techniques. Before your lesson, we will have a phone consultation so that we get a firm grasp of your current knowledge so that we are fully prepared for your lesson and are able to get right to work as soon as we begin teaching.
For more information, or to schedule your lesson, please reach out to us via email. We look forward to working with you!
Please note that our one-on-one classes, as well as our group workshops, are all intended for non-professional photographers. If you are someone looking to improve your skills when it comes to photography, learn how to take better pictures, and learn more about post-production as a hobby, don't hesitate to reach out to us!
