The Stand in Baby Comes to Life in Pixels!

Have you ever wished you were able to capture better portraits of your family and friends? If so, we have just the solution! Life in Pixels will be holding regular workshops to help non-professional photographers learn how to take better pictures. Each workshop will be focused on a specific aspect of photography and will last between two and three hours. Some of our workshops will be for those who know nothing about using a DSLR camera, while other workshops will be more advanced. We will also be holding workshops on occasion designed towards children who express an interest in learning more about photography. The workshop will take place at Duke Island Park in Bridgewater, NJ on July 28th. This month, we are offering a morning workshop, as well as an evening workshop so that more people can attend and so that we can accommodate as many different schedules as possible. At the workshop, we will be covering the very basics of DSLR photography, including the different modes of your camera, as well as the importance of shutter speed, aperture, and ISO. We will be limiting the number of attendees to 10 people so that we can provide each person with the attention they deserve. If we receive interest from more people, we do have additional instructors we can bring in order to accommodate a larger group. The only requirement is a desire to learn and a DSLR camera. The Stand in Baby Comes to Life in Pixels!

It was ten years ago that I first started taking pictures. I was taking some time off from college, trying to find myself and the direction in which I wanted to take my life when I stumbled upon art. At first, I was pretty horrific, but over time, I got better and better and became more intrigued by art in general. Whether I was painting, drawing, or even writing, I felt a sense of fulfillment that I hadn't experienced before. It didn't take very long before I made the decision to enroll in the BFA program at the local universities school for arts. The way their program is structured ensures that you receive a well-rounded education in all of the arts- drawing, painting, digital media, music, and photography. I had no idea when I walked into my first photography 101 class that I would be discovering a passion that filled me with enough drive that I would want to make a career out of it, but that is exactly what happened. The film, the darkroom, the 35mm camera - it all captivated me. Photography became my life, and I started carrying my camera with me everywhere I went. A year into my schooling I started exhibiting my work and two years in I began working professionally as a photographer. I loved every second of it. This was around 2014, I was single, living right outside ...
