A Winter Wonderland Maternity Session Captured by Life in Pixels Photography in Bridgewater, NJ

Winter is a season of cold, frigid, and sometimes downright unbearable temperatures. Snuggling up inside by a warm fire with a cozy blanket and a good read may sound like the ideal way to spend a snow day, but to Shanthi and Jay, a snow filled winter oasis was the perfect setting to capture priceless portraits of the end of their journey as a couple and the beginning of their journey into parenthood. Through the Eyes of a ChildShanthi and Jay are awaiting the arrival of their first child, due at the end of January. Not knowing whether or not their new bundle of joy will be a boy or a girl is just increasing the anticipation of the baby's arrival. We recently braved the snow to capture some fun maternity portraits for them and all four of us (well six I guess if you count the baby and Sammy, the dog that rules the home) had the times of our lives.Between the dress up and the snowball fights, sometimes it can be hard to remember this is our job! We loved every second of our session with them and are so looking forward to being able to capture more portraits as their family grows.Shanthi and Jay are so sweet and down to earth and were totally up for anything when it came to our session. We took some sweet photos inside, as we all needed some reprieve from the cold, but we had the absolute best time outdoors playing in the snow. We loved feeling like kids again, embracing ...

Cake Smash Session at Life in Pixels Studio in Bridgewater, NJ

A Winter Wonderland Maternity Session Captured by Life in Pixels Photography in Bridgewater, NJ

At Life in Pixels, the majority of our work consists of newborn photography. When parents to be come to us for their initial consult, we tell them about our baby plans, which are the perfect way to document the first year of a child's life. With three different plans available, we have a wide variety of options to choose from. Our premiere baby plan is the ultimate package, including a maternity session, a newborn session, milestone sessions at 3, 6, and 9 months, as well as a first birthday session. Our deluxe baby plan includes a maternity session, a newborn session, and a first birthday session. Our basic baby plan includes either a maternity and newborn session or a newborn and first birthday session. While I may love newborn photography a bit more than my husband, we both thoroughly enjoy first birthday sessions. Whether the parents are looking for a traditional session, a cake smash, or the theme of their choice, these sessions are always a blast for both the parents and the child. Recently we had the pleasure of capturing a cake smash for an angelic 1 year old girl. Her mother chose the color scheme, and the rest was left to us. At Life in Pixels, we strive to do as much of the work as we are able to, so that you can relax and enjoy your session. We handle all the decorations and setup, from the balloons to the streamers to the perfect backdrop - we do whatever we ...

A Winter Wonderland Maternity Session Captured by Life in Pixels Photography in Bridgewater, NJ

Last Sunday we had the pleasure of working with the Jersey Entrepreneurial Moms Group, a fabulous group of strong women from New Jersey who are juggling motherhood while running their own business. Created by Sarah Williams and Jillian Windle, the group was designed based on the core values of supporting the community, promoting small business owners, and helping each other succeed by promoting community over competition.Every week, the group allows members to share what they are working on, connect with fellow business owners, and build their network. The group holds regular networking events, meet-ups, and workshops to help connect the members and strengthen the bonds created in the group. On Sunday, the JEMS group held a headshot event to give the members an opportunity to receive updated professional headshots while meeting fellow members of the group. Life in Pixels Photography was honored to be selected as the photographers for the event, and the talented Arielle Miller was in charge of doing the makeup application for the women. The event took place in Sea Girt, New Jersey, at the Little Dreamers Play Cafe, an indoor play facility for children ages 0-5, owned by Dana Marie, another member of the JEMS group. The turnout was terrific, and the event was a great success. We are excited about putting together another event in the future and we were thrilled ...

A Princess Portrait Session in Somerset, NJ

A Winter Wonderland Maternity Session Captured by Life in Pixels Photography in Bridgewater, NJ

Last week we had the pleasure of putting together an elaborate princess themed portrait session for a little girl. Set in Colonial Park, her mom came with dozens of dresses, we showed up with a car full of props, and together we were able to make Collins feel like she really was a Disney princess that night. A session that we had been planning for months, we were so excited the day had finally arrived. Collins mom and I had been collaborating for what seemed like years, trying to make everything perfect for the big day.The princesses we planned to incorporate into Collins' session included Snow White, Cinderella, Belle, and Merida. Since Andrea (Collins' mom) already had all of the dresses, we went and got the shoes, jewelry, and bow and arrow for Merida - everything we would need to recreate the movies and make Collins' feel like the bell of the ball. This day was all about her.The session began at 5pm as the sun began to set behind the rose garden in Colonial Park in Somerset, NJ.First we did Belle, and Collins dressed up and sat on a bench, reading Beauty and the Beast of course. Following Belle, we decided to include Rapunzel after Andrea got a cute idea for a portrait we hadn't thought of - which consisted of Collins looking for her prince in the pond covered in lily pads. The next princess was Cinderella. Collins danced around the rose garden as her mom played music ...

Newborn Portrait Session at the Life in Pixels Studio with Baby Lyanna

A Winter Wonderland Maternity Session Captured by Life in Pixels Photography in Bridgewater, NJ

We recently ran a newborn model call and after lots of responses, we narrowed it down to two lucky families. Because we very rarely run model calls, we often get a tremendous amount of interest in these events, which makes it that much more difficult to choose which families we decide to work with in the end. That being said, we couldn't have been happier with the outcome of our first session.Introducing baby Lyanna, a precious little angel who was by far the most cooperative baby we ever had the pleasure of working with! While she certainly had opinions about which poses she liked and which poses she didn't, she was a trooper throughout the entire session. The purpose of this particular model call was to help us try out new wrapping techniques and to improve on certain poses, and Lyanna was very accommodating! Though she wasn't the biggest fan of being on her belly, she still let us work on a few poses that we recently learned during a workshop we attended.Though they may be our tiniest clients, newborns are definitely the most unpredictable. You never know what type of baby you will be working with, what type of personality they will have, and how willing they will be to cooperate. In this particular case, we definitely lucked out! Our session lasted a little over three hours and she stayed fast asleep for at least 90% of our session. Unfortunately, we weren't able ...
